I can't remember reading anything by Lindsey Sparks (also writes as Lindsey Fairleigh), although I sort of think I have. But in any case, I love Egyptian themes, and this one's free at Kindle UK right now, so I'll pick it up, and probably try it sometime soon. Sadly not free, at least as of now, at Kindle US, but I've provided a link for easy price check. Oh yeah, and rated at 4.3 stars on lots of reviews, which is pretty good...

Shadow Wizard is the first in Jeffe Kennedy's Renegades of Magic series. I haven't read any books in this series, but have liked several of her other series. For what it's worth, Kobo has this book in their Kobo Plus program, otherwise the price of $7.48 Cdn matches the price on Amazon.ca. The second book in the series Rogue Familiar is also available in the Kobo Plus program.

But the reason I'm reposting is that in her most recent email, Rosalind James indicated that she's in the process of writing the fourth in this series, Born to Sin, and that pre-orders should be coming soon. So fingers crossed . This is not my most favorite of her series, but I pretty much like all of her books.

Deadly Sting is the eighth in Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassin series, which I still haven't read any books in. Sigh! But I've liked a lot of her other books, so will pick this one up on spec, since it's on sale right now in the US for $1.99...

Red is definitely my color. Good thing, because in my line of work, I end up wearing it a lot.

Most people shy away from blood, but for an assassin like me— Gin Blanco, aka the Spider—it’s just part of the job. Still, it would be nice to get a night off, especially when I’m attending the biggest gala event of the summer at Briartop, Ashland’s fanciest art museum. But it’s just not meant to be. For this exhibition of my late nemesis’s priceless possessions is not only the place to be seen, but the place to be robbed and taken hostage at gunpoint as well. No sooner did I get my champagne than a bunch of the unluckiest thieves ever burst into the museum and started looting the place.

Unlucky why? Because I brought along a couple of knives in addition to my killer dress. Add these to my Ice and Stone magic, and nothing makes me happier than showing the bad guys why red really is my color.
