I'm reading Stacy Schiff's The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams. It's a bit dry, but I like American history. When I bought it for kindle in March, it was on sale.

Next was Mrs Pargeter's Package by Simon Brett. The expected light mystery. Quite fun. Next up is: The Amber Fury by Natalie Haynes. Intriguing. | |

Believe it or not I enjoyed The Silmarillion |

I've finished what is easily one of my best books of the year, The Broken House: Growing Up Under Hitler by Horst Krüger. The title could lead you to believe that it's a bog standard memoir, chronological and straightforward, with the subtext "Guilty? Not us!" But it's much more complicated and indirect; the author said it wrote itself. Would that more books wrote themselves in such compelling, beautiful and scorching prose.

Finished Mistworld by Simon Green. Good story but I'm not a fan of apocalyptic so won't be continuing this series. Science Fiction. Current is Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas. This is a book I bought for my late sister so I'm plopping in the middle of the series. Fantasy. |

I finished Armor of Light by Follet, a good addition to the Kingsbridge series. Not sure what is up next; I have three choices. Probably Sea of Tranquility by Mandel. Just purchased Our Woman in Moscow, a spy thriller by Williams. After one of those two up next will be The Night Watchman.

Thanks to a gift card I'd forgotten I had, I picked up Charles Watt's Revolution: The Rise of Arteta's Arsenal for a good price at Kobo today. An interesting read to help me toward my goal of reading at least 10% nonfiction this year.

A good story with Greek Myths in the background. And a sound lesson in why vengeance based justice is a bad idea. Then I read Sunreach, ReDawn and Evershore by Brandon Sanderson & Janci Patterson A most enjoyable look at other characters in the Skyward Flight stories. Next up: One Last Heist by Lyndon Hardy |

Which was an enjoyable light story set in his "Master of Five Magics" universe. There were a few typos which I reported and got a positive response back, so hopefully they'll be sorted soon. Next up: Someday the Rabbi will Leave by Harry Kemelman. Part of a re-read of this excellent set of mystery novels. |
