M. Night Shyamalan is a popular punching bag. But I think he deserves better. To me, the only really terrible movie he's released is The Happening. Otherwise, some of his movies are better than others. But he is a talented director.

Agreed. Shyamalan is a favorite director, despite what everyone else seems to think. I didn't care for The Happening, but everything else has ranged from average to pretty good to me.

I havent seen everything by him, but I liked most of what I've seen. He seems to be one many automatically deduct points from.

It reminds me of 1970s cover blurbs. "Gripping" in a giant 1970s font. Nothing about the plot on the front or back cover.

I am annoyed when the title on Amazon and other sites displays as something like "The Red House: Discover the gripping and twisty thriller for 2023..." It was one thing when indie publishers did that. But now, big publishers starting doing it.
