Battery problem, Kindle 7th PW. Is it normal it heats a bit on the back?
Hello, I usually have a cover on, so I didn't recognize it before. Is it normal it's a bit hot in the bottom part? Actually if I disassemble the kindle that area that is warm outside, is really hot inside. I'm having battery problems and I want to understand if it makes sense to replace it again, or there is another problem. In fact I've replace the battery already 2 months ago. The battery started to drain really fast, like after 6-8 hours of use. Then I would get a -22 battery error. So in July I replaced it, but the replacement battery was an "unused", according to the seller, second hand battery. After replacing it the error disappeared, but also this battery would last only a few days of light use. Now after 2 months I've got the same -22 battery error also with this battery. So at this point I don't know if it was a faulty battery, or there is another hardware problem.
it does get warm both with the original battery and the second hand replacement This is what the second battery log says 230927:233325 powerd[2028]: I def:battinfo:batt_type = PRIMARY, capav=46%, mAh=671mAh, volt=3796mV, current=-69mA, temp=109F, lmd=1408mAh, cycl=67 |

a battery over heating is never good. you need to remove asap. did you make sure it was right battery for it. batteries over heat when you use wrong charger. or it was faulty to begin with. maybe someone else can answer if you need to get a new one or not.

It's not the battery overheating. There are some circuits that are hot, and it happens with both batteries, and I don't know if it's supposed to be like that

No, that seems unusual. You'd get an LCD Android tablet or some iThings getting warm or even hot, but I've never felt a Kindle or other ereader do it. Even the old Binatone LCD ereaders don't get warm.
Something is a bit dodgy. |

No ereader I've ever used has felt warm (I read without a cover), so no, it's certainly not how it's supposed to be. Something is wrong.
