Kobo Clara 2E on sale for Mother's Day at $119.99 (regular price is $139.99), in the U.S. Alaska and Hawaii do not qualify (due to shipping lockout). I feel depressed.

Set up optware. Gotten dropbear working. A few boot scripts to make everything start at boot. Python USB OTG A terminal emulator. Along with a 128gb SD card as the internal storage

Then, yeah, it's the exact same base system, TC, arch (and SoC). Depending on exactly how you mangled the init, I'd be careful with *that* (as always with touching the init, really), but that's it.

EDIT: Can never recall which devices have an internal SD card or not though, so, double-check that (as well as how easy it is to extricate if that's the case).

And NM has no compatibility issues whatsoever.

Just transferring the SD is not an option as I’ll loose out on Bluetooth and such. But getting a clean image and putting my stuff should be pretty easy if its the same base system and SOC I was just worried that it was a different SOC / they switched from the init system the Clara HD used.

NM working means everything should be there. However one question. Does the USB OTG hack work? https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=340418 And if it does. Do i still need a Y splitter or will it power my peripheral Im here for USB C.

The Kindle Basic in Denim does make me wish readers were available in other colors.

There's the DecalGirl skins. But I think I would stress myself out applying them.

I know I'm a year late... but... is there anyone with both a Clara HD and 2E that can say anything about how the lighting compares at the LOWEST brightness of the ComfortLight Pro both in "full white" and "full orange" modes (with auto switched off)?

I'm asking because the lowest brightness on the Clara HD was too bright for me to read in the dark, and I had to draw a dark line with a permanent marker along the inside of the bezel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxqVLnosNTI). I'd like to avoid having to do the same with a next ereader

With BRightness set to 1 and Natural Light at 0, my Clara HD is a little brighter than my Clara 2E. With the Brightness set to 1 and natural at 100, the Clara HD is a little brighter.
