Adding the "quiet" is work and eliminating the display of number code. Now the pop-up mesages appear only to show Enable or Disable Dark Mode during Dark Mode execution.

Code:

When I tried this code, it does toggle the dark mode, but it always seems to set the light level to 10?

Yes, you are right the light level doesn't change between two stages, unfortunately.

On recent devices, yes (assuming the right sysfs path is used ;p). On older devices, not so much. The ioctl has the advantage of (currently) working *everywhere* .

But, if you happen to also be changing the color, then going full sysfs looks mildly cleaner .

Apologies if this has been covered. I didn't see anything in the thread, but I'll admit to not having read every single post.

I've got a menu entry that takes me to the list of collections. What I'd really like, though, is to be able to jump to a specific collection (i.e. my current reading list). Is there a way to do this?

Yes there is a way. Make this collection the first one alphabetically.

One of them is left over from your experiments with NM so you need to manually delete it. I think it's the one which appears under the [FeatureSettings] section header.

The old patch (which you want to go back to) was a bit of a hack which worked by replacing one of the rarely used options which gets stored under the [Reading] section header in the config file. I think this is the one you need to keep.

If that doesn't work manually delete all InvertScreen lines and after rebooting the Kobo go back to Settings to start again.
Thank you!
I got the right screen inversion also manually, changing the orientation to trigger the page refresh.
I "discovered" that, with recent firmware releases, a page refresh action is required to get the screen mode inversion, unlike the previous ones. At this point, I reinstall NM, configuring it as you suggested.

In addition to the UI not being updated (previously mentioned), sometimes when I wake from sleep, the light level is set to the last UI (config file setting?) value.

Hadn't thought about that, but, yes, it makes perfect sense.

Hi. We just bought a Libra 2 for our daughter and I need her to be able to access our family Google Drive rather than dropbox. I implemented dropbox without any problem on 2 other Kobos (a libra 2 and an Aura one) with Nickelmenu but now I'd like to try with google drive because we already have a big google drive account and our dropbox is just the free one thus too small.

I specifically want to do this with Nickelmenu because it is the best for me.

Edit: I realized the only way would be through the Nickelmenu and thus the Nickel conf file, but for that Google drive would need to be implemented as a possible library.

Why not just sign into google drive from the *more* menu?

Not possible on the libra2, it’s only there on the Forma, Sage and Elipsa, same thing as Dropbox.

I tested with the following three items so open from Home, My Books or while reading a book. It worked from all three (NickelMenu item for the first 2, hamburger ... menu while reading).

Code:
menu_item : main : Pocket : nickel_open: library:pocket
menu_item : library : Pocket : nickel_open: library:pocket
menu_item : reader : Pocket : nickel_open: library:pocket
