I'm told they'll do that in Newcastle, England, in winter.

Shorts are great in winter. The bottom of your pants don't get wet and cold against your legs until the snow gets close to a metre deep.

T-shirts are good as well. Your sleeves don't get wet when you wash your hands and don't freeze later.

Oh yes, standard attire for females on Saturday night in January. I'm told the copious amount of alcohol consumption helps with the insulation.

My next book: Don’t Fear the Reaper is worse. Technically its a good horror novel BUT there are so many characters that are complex I just could not keep up with the storyline. So I DNF it.

I vent and rant when you get others saying to go on and read that book. It's OK that you've not read the rest of the series. It's standalone. That's BS and stop it!

A vent & rant is about things that affect you. Are you really saying that people can't have opinions that differ from your own, because that offends you? Huh. There are a lot of political movements that have that as their raison d'être.

In other words, no one's forcing you to read series books out of order. We've all done it, though, even if only in the misty paper past when you could only read what you could get and we've all managed to muscle on. My own opinion is that with some series, you might be better served by starting a book or two in, once the author's found his/her feet. As with Whose Body?. There's also a critical difference between a series and a serial. One's more or less standalone, the other is not.

But there. I know you're only doing this for attention and now you've got it.

I managed to fall asleep while reading a book. I'm not sure what that says about the book.

Um... I've never done it. Either I read in order or I don't read at all. Even when I have nothing else to read, as happened often back in my paper days. I absolutely refuse to read a series out of order, no matter the circumstances.

That said, I don't take offense when someone recommends a series book out of order to me. I'll just go and look up the first book.

I’m trying to decide on what book to read. I have probably 2000 e-books between Kindle, Barnes & Noble nook and Kobo and probably only read 500 so I’ve got at least 1500 books to choose from. Lol.

I have all my 30,000+ books categorized in Calibre, including (in the case of unread books) how strong is my desire to read them. So it's pretty easy to pick something from the top 500 in desirability. I don't have to go through all my books every time I'm about to start a new book.

If I had to browse all my purchases in different stores I've used, I'd go mad. Now that's time-consuming. Using Calibre just takes a couple of clicks. Of course, managing and categorizing my new purchases takes longer, but I don't mind that.

I don’t like caliber ever since Amazon won’t let you have the old desktop version I can no longer strip the DRM and I find the caliber to be a waste of time. It just takes too much effort and somehow I got so many duplicates. I just don’t have time to delete it. I haven’t touched caliber in over a year.
