I've updated to the newest test version and latest version of calibre and for the past couple of days routinely (but not always) get this error:

Code:
Exception: Trying to set entry (chapterstotal) value(1/1) to column (#totalchapters) failed (invalid literal for int() with base 10: '1/1') according to defaults.ini, chapterstotal is only suppose to list the last part of that (chapterslashtotal is the full one), so Id look for any replaces that change that. If you made #totalchapters the wrong type - you can't change a column type.
however, you can make #totalchapters2, use search & replace to copy all the contents over, delete the original column, and then rename the new one. |

So I've been out of the game for a couple of months and now I'm back to catch up on my downloads/updates. AO3 has been working fine, but ff.net has been giving the usual trouble. So I tried a few different methodes.
FYI: I'm running the latest versions of both Calibre and Fanficfare. First I updated Flaresolver to the latest version of 3.6.6 but I keep getting "Error: Error solving the challenge. Timeout after 60.0 seconds." which was happening before as well. Fanficfare gives this error as if flaresolverr isn't running but I can see the call in the prompwindow, just not solving the challenges, so this error is outside of Fanficfare. Still if anyone has a tip, much appreciated. Second I tried the browser cache, but then I get "HTTP Error in FFF 'Page not found or expired in Browser Cache (see FFF setting browser_cache_age_limit)'(428)" so I cleared my chrome cache, no change, I tried FFDL cache, no change I even set up a new cache through firefox, no change. (I've included the debug i case it's usefull) Spoiler:
Third I tried "open_pages_in_browser" and all I get is "HTTP Error in FFF '403 Client Error: Forbidden for url" the URL itself is working fine. (I've included the debug i case it's usefull) Spoiler:
I've searched this thread for recent changes but could not find anything significant. I'll be honest I did not read ever single post from the last couple of months because a lot deals with other issues people have had. So if I missed something I'd appreciate a nudge in the right direction. Last edited by ackomb; 09-17-2023 at 11:30 AM. Reason: Changed the CODE tags for SPOILER tags to reduce the length of this post. |

Your second log has use_browser_cache:false, so it's not even trying the cache. Try: Code:
use_browser_cache:true use_browser_cache_only:true open_pages_in_browser:true |

I think I followed all the steps. But I keep getting the "HTTP Error in FFF 'Page not found or expired in Browser Cache (see FFF setting browser_cache_age_limit)'(428)" error. Also tried clearing the cache once again before trying. I've included default, ffnet and override part of my personal.ini Spoiler:

Need Help to set-up calibre
Hi, I'm new to calibre and I would like to know how to do a relationship column, fandom column, and basically how to set it up for fanfics. I already know how to create custom columns
What do I need to add to make it function? 2. Is it possible to create a column for word count and another for page count? 3. How can a set a column for complete/ wip works? 4. How do you set up a fandom column that when you download from url fanfic that has two fandoms it can slip to two different fandom tag ( 4 image 4. How to learn to personalize or to customize your personal.id 4. etc.. 5. When do you know what to press to create a custom column ( i mean the column type) I have already created a WIP and a complete column but I don't know if it is right ( 3 image) And finally do and know how to put this (2 image) |

Since my error is similar, I checked the instructions above and found the error. There were two invalid sections in personal.ini:
[www.fictionalley.org] and [www.harrypotterfanfiction.com] after removing them everything works again. Maybe this will help other users. Thank you |

Hey novelas_,
First of all I would set up a test library so you won't corrupt files trying to get things right. Second set up at a colunn to save metadata. Set it up as long text, like culumns and then under customize fanficfare, at the bottom of the Customs Columns tab set "Saved MetaData Column" to the column you just created. This allows you to rapidly update from the saved metadata column as you figure things out through trial and error without hitting the site over and over again. How do you know which tyoe of column to set, that all depends on what you want to do. Start by browsing this forum for exmaples, there are many. To give you a starting point, for wordcount and pages? I set mine as integers. For status and different fandoms for example I use Comma seperated, like tags. And for notes I would set as long text like comment. And anything date of time related, use dates of course. For a read status I'd use a Yes/No type of column. As for your personal.ini file, start with reading the comments under the defaults Jimm has set up. There are many tips on basic settings and in addition read https://github.com/JimmXinu/FanFicFa...dataManagement This and browsing this forum will get you started. |

Did you set up the save meta data column I've explained in my previous reply? It will save you a lot of trouble in the future and will allow you to play around a bit. |
