@JSWolf's version is not working properly because he has unknowingly updated the plugin using the official version 1.9.2, and that does not contain the past fixes from my unofficial updates.

Thanks to @BeckyEbook for the fix. I have updated the plugin to version 1.10.2.

Thanks for providing a clear description with your log and screenshot. As seen from your provided log and my tests, the plugin is working properly getting the correct results for both the books.

From my understanding as to why the downloaded information is not showing in Calibre's interface, the downloaded metadata interface will be blank if it is the same as to what was already in the original metadata.

So, for the book in your screenshot, your book's original publisher metadata is "Seven Seas Entertainment" which is the same as what the plugin has gotten from Kobo ("Seven Seas Entertainment" as seen from your log). Hence, it's not showing up in Calibre's interface. You can test this by editing the book's publisher to something else other and running the plugin again, this time the downloaded publisher metadata will show up in the interface.

I hope this clarifies things a bit for you!

And in this case why the language and ibsn fields are they filled with the value from the website event if they are the same ?

The log make me think it gets different values when it scan page - the first part of the log.
But it does not pass it to calibre - the second part of the log- like not parsing the field as there is for example no "parsed_publisher"

I am pretty sure at some point in the past the "left" part of the interface had the value even if it was the same.

Unfortunately, I’m unable to reproduce this unexpected behaviour. In my tests, the publisher is always updated correctly. Anyway, are the “Publisher” options by any chance, unticked in your configurations?

My apologies. Upon checking, I've actually missed applying log messages to "parsed_publisher" so that's the reason you didn't see it in your log.

However, that shouldn’t matter because the first part of the log that shows "Publisher : Seven Seas Entertainment" are the actual metadata that Calibre received from the plugin. In fact, the plugin seems to be working properly from your log and I have no idea why Calibre is not updating the field correctly.

All is ticked in plugin and in metadata search

New try after clearing out manually the publisher field.
But the publishing date can not be cleared and not filled in calibre field
Something must be wrong somewhere

Hello, I am trying to fix the download covers problem, I downloaded the fix by changhuapeng in post #181, but when I go to Preferences > plugins > load from file, then click on the folder that was downloaded, all of the files within are grayed out and will not let me select any of them. What am I doing incorrectly? Can someone tell me how to apply this fix? Thank you.

EDIT: Nevermind. I realized that I was accidentally automatically unzipping the file and trying to load from the unzipped file. I managed to download the zipped file, and the plug installed. I am happy to report that I am able to download covers from Kobo again. Thank you so much for fixing this!

If somebody put a gun to my head right now and said "put your custom 'Generate Covers' template images in the correct place so it will work" then my life would be forfeit. I would be a-goner.

I've been trying for more than a week to figure out where the custom cover templates go. I'm guessing it's probably somewhere in a subdirectory of
~/Users/[username]/Library/Application\ Support/calibre
or maybe
~/Users/[username]/Library/Application\ Support/calibre-ebook.com

but I the "help" instructions do not offer any "help" or any instruction on the matter, and everything is such a massive wall of text instead of a simple answer like "put them all here: (address)"

Is there a very, very, very good reason why the HELP instructions for the plugin doesn't include a simple: ?
