This is how it works in MacOS but with my other Android reader (an InkBook) what happens is it launches Android File Transfer, I close that, then I open Calibre and Calibre will connect. Or if Calibre is already open, it grabs the InkBook and the AFT opens but it can't connect. This seems to be something a little different. (Actually now that I think about it, it's the same thing the Nook Glowlight 4 did when I put it into USB debug mode and mounted it with MTP to see if I could end-run around the partitioning ... Android File Transfer could see the GL4, but Calibre wouldn't transfer files to it. Since I was kinda misusing the Nook anyway I didn't really worry about it at the time ...)

Are you able to sideload fonts onto the new Nook? I like a bold font on my ereader. Sadly for me the past Nooks have not been bold enough.
Thank you for the information. |

If you want a Reader that allows you to change the font weight, go with Kobo or Kindle and not nook.

I am not sure. Nook has basic settings. Kobo is best for settings, fonts margin sizes etc..,

Anyone figure out calibre? I'd like to load up the Malazan books I bought from the recent HumbleBundle.
It's just weird that my GlowLight 4 will go into USB mode when connected but the new GlowLight 4 Plus won't. Tried multiple cables, using a hub to plug in, etc... no dice. |

Now that I've had the Nook Glowlight 4 Plus for a few days: It's about the same speed as the Kobo Libra 2 I have. It looks and feels nice in the hand IMO. The two issues I've found are the physical buttons aren't very responsive (I seem to have to really press down for it to register), and there's no white text on black background option I can find.

Eh. I could tolerate the slowness (I do read on my Libra 2), but combined with the lack of customization options, it's a no-go for me. |
