It won't be our problem for long. And I think I need to have a chair and popcorn at the ready for when the builders start downstairs in September. Because I told the new owner about it and he got an evil grin and told me he would inform the builders about the problem.
Just after their written warning the person living in the attic (several employees rent rooms above the restaurant) had loud music on in the middle of the night. They know my bedroom is next to the attic. It got me in the mood to sing along with one of my current favourite bands, a symphonic metal band. And I can't sing. But that didn't stop me from doing it at the top of my lungs. Soon I heard the thumps of two roof windows slamming shut. I did that two times and no more middle of the night boom boom music. |

There's a lot of pettiness going on around here. Especially between some cafés and restaurants.
However, my mother's revenge was the best I've heard so far. It was with the same restaurant as the one I'm dealing with. But with a previous owner (not the previous one before the current, but the one before that). It must have been around 35 years ago. My mother kept my sister's pushchair behind the side door. And she was going to take me to school and bring my sister with us (school was walking distance). However, when she opened the door a mountain of trash bags came tumbling in (no wheelie bins at the time). That restaurant stacked up their trash against that door every morning. What made it worse is that they didn't tie them shut. So when the bags came tumbling in the trash would fall out. Which was, of course, food. My mother was really really fed up with this. She took me to school. Came back, handed my sister to my father and continue to take (some of) the trash bags back into the restaurant and continue to empty them on the floor. After that there were no more stacks of trash against our door, at least for a while. |

When it comes to queso dips (of the same brand), I just want a reasonable shot at knowing which is spicier. "Original" doesn't helped me do that.

That could work too. I've been working on the mistaken assumption that Original was some sort of heat baseline that Mild and Hot were on either side of.
Today's rant: drivers who ignore miles and miles of detour signs (because they believe they're entitled to some sort of super-secret, hyper-local drive-around) and ultimately wadding up traffic when they get all the way to the missing bridge in the center of town. |

Ugh. Detour routes might be unpredictable for a newcomer, so MAYBE some can get the benefit of the doubt, but how about those idiots who have to drive up to very end of every lane closure or merge and force their way in rather than merging smoothly sometime during the half mile of warning signs!
