The longer I live, the more I appreciate why a rooster starts its day screaming. (Not just the sacrificial ones)

I sympathise. Hopefully you can sleep it off. The weather with you sounds horrendous.

Hmm... currently 16° with a projected high of 22°. A great day to relax with a beverage and watch the gardeners.

Looking at some cross stitched kits. And wishing each kit came with a (QR) code to download the pattern in PDF.
I prefer a digital pattern, which I can load in an app and mark off my stitches as I go along. Instead of working with a big paper pattern, magnet board and markers. Now I have the patterns scanned at the copy shop. Which isn't that expensive, but I need to make time for it and the scan is never as clear as an original digital file. Also most kits use embroidery floss made by DMC in their kits, but they never list the colour numbers. In theory they provide enough floss for the project and some extra just in case. But things happen. Sure, you can contact the manufacturer, but not all are willing to give out the colour numbers. Also having the colour numbers means I can enter them in my app and have it mark off the stitches in the right colour. |

You'd be surprised. I have selection of the freshest fruit and veg at that time of day. I often see them stocking the fresh bananas and greens when I walk in.

Preparing for a visit today. The new owner of the building is coming to pick up the glass lampshades he (or rather his wife) wants. We have a lot of glass work left (which we got from several colleagues who shut down their business) and the new owner expressed an interest in them, plus the ones that are still in the attic (which are antique). If he hadn't wanted it we would have given it to another colleague, but he's coming to pick it up, which saves us several, very careful, car rides.
I've dressed up for the occasion. Instead of my usual old sweat pants and old t-shirt I've put on jeans and a newer t-shirt. I even matched my watch band with my shirt. |

This is my favourite house I've seen so far. Downstairs it's basically got an apartment; bedroom with en-suit bathroom (with space for a washing machine), a separate toilet, open plan living room, kitchen and dining room and access to a nice sized garden.
Upstairs is the living room/kitchen/dining room, with two balconies (one is quite big) and a toilet. And one floor up are three bedroom and another full bathroom with another hook up for a washing machine. It's not that I want to have the downstairs living area for myself; it would make a great craft space/Lego room. The kitchen would be a bonus. And with our bedrooms on different floors we wouldn't bother each other. If we were to use the downstairs living area as a craft room it means we have an extra bedroom. My sister could use the smallest as a walk in wardrobe and the middle sized upstairs bedroom as a bigger office. It's got a A rating for energy efficiency, triple glazing and a good number of solar panels. There are four down sides; it's further away from Utrecht, which is a bigger problem for my sister than for me. Neither kitchen has a build in oven/microwave, the kitchen up stairs got a free standing one on a table or counter across from the kitchen counter. My sister thinks that there isn't enough space for a dining table for 4 people upstairs, but on pictures your never sure. And finally, the steps of the stairs aren't closed (you can see through to behind the stairs) and my sister doesn't like that, it's not a problem for me. The price it great, too. Within our budget (although I expect it'll go over asking price). My sister's going to see if she can book a viewing tomorrow. |

It looks like a wooden staircase. My sister wouldn't go for fabric, she wants it to look nice. But I don't think it will be too hard to close it off with wooden planks and paint it the same colour as the rest of the stairs. There are various tutorials online how to do it yourself, or you can hire someone to do it for you. Or she will have to get used to it, at least it isn't a spiral staircase.

That a trifle odd. I was able to view the site with Firefox and @badgoodDeb was able to view it. Guess you drew the short straw!
