Think I've bricked my Libra 2
Opened up my Libra 2 yesterday just to have a look at the SD card situation.
I was very surprised to see my SD card was actually not stuck in that well. It actually wiggled out in a few seconds, almost like any normal SD card slot. popped it into my PC just to have a look at its contents, then popped it back in the libra. all good at this point. Now this morning ive gone to turn my Kobo on and its not responding to anything. Its stuck on the "Powered Down" page and pressing any of the buttons for any length of time seems to do nothing. The power LED is not coming on or flashing or anything. The LED also doesnt come on when i plug it into a power source. I was icredibly delicate with the device but it now seems completely dead. Does anyone have any idea what I can do? I'm curious as well, would the kobo do "anything" if the SD card is removed? I just wonder if plugging the card into my pc has naffed it and now it wont boot. Is there any way of obtaining a fresh image for the Libra 2 that i could flash to a totally new SD card? TIA |

It's possible that some of the water resistant coating has gotten into the socket for µSD card socket and is causing issues. The only time I played with this, I ended up using a wood toothpick and a lint free cleaning cloth to clean the socket.
Unless you formatted the µSD card while it was in your PC, it should not have had any effect when you replaced it in your Libra 2. You can request a replacement image for the Libra 2 in the Kobo µSD Card Image Requests thread. However you will need to have Private Messages enabled before you can be sent the link. If you don't see that option in the "Edit Options" of the User control panel, you should post in the Requests to enable Private Messages thread to ask for PMs to be enabled. Once PMs are enabled, please post your request in the Kobo µSD Card Image Requests. |

Yes, the coating can "flake". Likely if card came out easily. Cocktail stick / tooth pick will sort it.
