Kindle PW5 Version 5.16.1.2 can be Jailbreak?
Hello guys, I am new in this forum, I have always thought that jailbreaking a Kindle is easy peasy, but not today I got my new Kindle PW5 today hoping I get a version under 5.14.2, so I can proceed to a Jailbreak but I got it with a version 5.15.1.1 and after a couple of minutes it updated automatically to 5.16.1.2, sorry for the stupid question but give something.. here, there is a hope of getting it Jailbroken or any news about it, if before that I loved Amazon stuff, now I don't understand why a device that I paid for 139 USD, would limit my options of how I want to use it.. but seriously any hope?

@Kobo troll Just a reminder that PW5 Kids is still a PW5. And that you repeating something incorrect enough times doesn't suddenly make it true.
IIRC there were even more recent (than my own experience in February 2023) reports here on Mobileread of people buying PW5 Kids and getting a unit with factory firmware 5.14.0.1. edit: Yes, I do remember correctly: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...84&postcount=8 So there you have it, 20-something June 2023. That statement has nothing to do with your previous absolute claim than (no) PW5 could possibly come with older firmware.
And since you're always amongst the first users to come along and answer to those type of questions if you genuinely wanted to help people you're responding to you wouldn't write those absolute but incorrect comments, instead you would after offering your "you should buy a Kobo, Kobo is better" at least mention possibility of buying a PW5 Kids bundle instead of regular PW5 and reasons for wanting to buy that more expensive option for what is literally the same device. |
