It'll be a bit of a different day today. So far I've been packing things to go to various colleagues. And I've been doing it mostly on my own.

Today, around ten, someone is coming to pick up the fluorescent tubes we have left and we didn't even have to put them at the front of the store (we have them at the back of the store), they will carry them from the back to the front.

The only problem is that I'll be in the way if I keep doing my regular thing because we have a narrow store. My current plan is to work until they arrive, then go pick up Luna's medication at the vet. If they aren't done by the time I get back I'll have to figure out what to do.

I'm glad we found someone for the fluorescents. Otherwise we would have to have them picked up for recycling and we would have to take all the tubes out off their boxes and packaging to pack them in the recycle boxes.

The same colleague is also interest in other things we haven't been able to find another home for, he especially want the uncommon and weird items we have left. We still have a huge cartridge fuse and a huge CEE plug (both we got from other colleagues who closed down). The chances of selling those are very small, but they make for great decoration in the shop window.

Back from my annual physical exam. I've lost a little weight, my blood pressure is good, and there were no red flags. Anything else will have to wait for the detailed report.

There's a first time for everything. And for me, today, that's buying a light bulb. When I went to toilet during the night the bulb in my bedside light died. So now I have to get a new.

I've always just went downstairs to our store to get a new one, but all the light bulbs are packed and either in my father's garage or, most of it, given to colleagues. The light bulb I night might be in my father's garage. But I know some of them were already sold out and to be honest I can't be bothered to go to my father's garage, find the box (there are a lot of boxes) and then dig through it to see if we still have one. It's just easier to get one around the corner for €4.

I was stumped for half a minute, wondering where I would be able to get a light bulb. I never had to think about that before.

Got one at a department store, and for a €4 bulb the colour is really nice. Better than my old bulb, but that one was at least 8 years old.

I also never had to buy batteries, plugs, cables, extension cords, etc. Sure, you can get them at the big box DIY stores outside of the city, but where to get that locally will be a fun adventure when the time comes.

Watching the news - 32 car chain reaction pile up on I-40 during the storms - very near to my neighborhood - actually at the exit for my neighborhood -

I've driven that section during heavy rain - and the lane markings vanish once the surface floods - very hazardous

I was SO glad I was in the southern part of my service area for work yesterday! I sent all my office staff home at 1 because they live all over the Triangle. We are on a hybrid schedule, but some people were in the office. I just told everyone to work from home and shut up shop early.

I live a lot further north than you than I realized, up exit 261 on the north side of Chapel Hill. We got hammered, but I haven't seen any trees down. I'm sure old 86 is a bit of a mess though.

Lot of tree limbs down - but *knock on wood* power stayed on - most damage in Durham seems to have occurred in the northern areas around Croasdale - off of 86.

Was looking out the back door when the storm swept in - had to use my full body weight to close the door against the wind - scary - watched trees bend over - lasted less than a minute but wowzer!

Today this house came on the market. Very nice, except for the spiral staircase. And across the street is a roofing supply yard/depot, not sure if that's a bad thing.

I did have to laugh at this picture of the second bedroom. With the candles in front of those paintings it looks like an altar for their chicken gods.

I wonder if @poohbear_nc has any relatives in that area? <snicker>

Next question is if the bar fridge in the kitchen area is all there is?

I think the fridge is the bigger door to the right of the stove, below it should be the freezer. This is a standard size fridge and freezer for the Netherlands.

I have a small fridge in my room atm, which I will be keeping and it will either be put in our shed or if we have a hobby room in the attic it will be put up there.

A black rooster sacrificed at midnight of a new moon is a guarantee of good fortune and a decent meal.
