Kobo Elipsa 1st Gen
Is there a trick to export notebooks to Goodnotes or Onenote? All I see is sending it to google drive or dropbox. I don't use either. Thanks. I found ways to send notes with my Boox and Scribe to goodnotes except for the kobo notebooks. dropbox looks like it requires a paid subscription.

Kobo Elipsa 1st Gen

You can export a basic notebook to PDF and an advanced notebook to Word .docx when you select “Export to Computer”. You’ll then find them in the “Exported Notebooks” folder/directory at the root of your mounted Kobo on your desktop. You also have the option of taking the .nebo journal files from the root directory of your Kobo and load them into a Nebo app for desktop or tablet. PDF into GoodNotes used to work great before the Elipsa2 updates. Now the PDF font sizes tend to be overly large. I’m hoping they fix it. Last edited by Cootey; 08-09-2023 at 07:53 AM. |

I use export for notebooks and copy via a file Manager.
I tend to use png for basic and txt for Advanced, unless the advanced has non-text, then docx. But I only use the Elipsa now to proof PDFs (occasionally as the bulk of proofing is on epub) and view some PDFs since getting the Sage. |

I look at the notes produced by Kobo. They are using Myscript nebo. This file format seems to be very closed — I do not find any document, or any converter freely available.
You could convert it into PDF in Nickel, but then it is no longer that modifiable. |

The Advanced notebooks can be exported as txt or docx or HTML which can be edited.
The Basic Notebooks are just images, export as png and you can "edit". PDFs are never for editing, just view or print. |

I hate my Elipsa. Just junk. I try to take notes and it flip pages when my hand touches the screen. It also has difficulty highlighting as I read. Can't write on a book without the pages flipping when i don't want to flip. Really pisses me off. Kobo Sage, Kindle Scribe and Boox is so much better. i thought about getting 2nd gen Elipsa but is it any better?

It sounds like you've not really explored the Advanced notebooks conversion features and export of conversions to docx. There would be ZERO value for templates. However I prefer the Sage for notes. Better size. The Elipsa is just for PDFs to big for Sage and proofing format/layout of PDFs for POD. |
