We're still using that exit, we park our bikes behind that door. In summer I like to go out and will regularly have to go in and out.

After having to go into the restaurant for the umpteenth time and them either being rude or dismissive, or both, I just had enough and reported them.

In September the new owner wants to start renovating the basement and ground floor. We're (mostly me) now busy packing up the things in the store we either want to keep or that we're giving away. All the bookkeeping needs to be removed but anything else that we don't want to keep or give away we can just leave.

My parents have until December 21 to move. They haven't found anywhere new. They would like to live in one specific senior apartment building, at the start of the year apartments kept coming up for sale, but since my parents got the money no new apartment has come onto the market. So they'll need to make decisions soon.

I'm going to move to my sister's place on November 1. Before it gets too cold (my current bedroom's gas heater doesn't work). She has an appointment with a mortgage person and then we're going house hunting for something bigger. I'm hoping for a bedroom big enough that I can create a cross stitch/reading corner.

OH, believe me I get the aggro. But I was wondering if the hassle of continuing to deal with them was more aggro than the other. That's all. They should be glad that they have nice people like you to deal with. Only the heavens know what would happen to hose tables, etc. if it were me.

Oh, geeze, moving around Xmas if they put it off. I wouldn't do that for love or money. I realize that moving is like..a major nightmare, but could they find a furnished place to RENT until something that they want comes up on the market, maybe? Put all the furnuite, etc. into storage (so they're not moving 'twice'), take clothes and the like and plop down in a rental and then take their time to find just the right apartment/condo?

Last night I heard that today my father's sister and her husband are visiting. You know, the one that thinks my only reason for existence is to take care of my parents. The one that was upset with me the last time she visited because I didn't serve them their drinks and cake (it was the Saturday before Christmas, the busiest day of the year and I was on my own in the store).

Her latest thing is that I should go work in care and that in my free time I should volunteer as a carer for someone who hasn't got any family or friends to do that. I don't think so.

Since I won't be able to stop myself being rude to her I'll make myself scarce. Unfortunately there a high chance of rain this afternoon. So instead of cycling to my favourite walking spot, go for a walk and treat myself to an early dinner. I'll go run some errands in the city center and have a big lunch somewhere, hoping I can stretch it long enough for my aunt and uncle to have left when I get back.

You are too nice by far. I mean it. You really should either just bloody tell her the hell off (sorry, Dad!) or just never see her again.

By NOW, I'd have thought that your Dad might be a little, teeny-weeny bit more considerate of how YOU feel and not allow that witch to ride her broomstick to your home.

ETA: actually, I've changed my mind. You should make up a typed list of all her bitches, complaints, ideas and answer them on that list. So, say, #1 is "take care of your parents" and answer it however you typically do, but LESS NICE. Then do #2, etc. And then just had the cursed thing to her when she arrives. I've actually done something like that (granted, it was decades ago, but all my family are under the turf now, so no new opportunities), and that's always been one of my faves.

LOL, I like my cousins too much to risk losing contact with them.

But my aunt and uncle were actually nice yesterday, which made me mistrust them even more than normal. They were early and left late, so while I did go out for lunch I still had to spend time with them.

I think/hope that once I move in with my sister I won't have much to do with my aunt and uncle. See them only when there is a get together and that isn't often in our family.

At the risk of posting a comment off-topic for the thread… I am optimistic about a new diagnosis and treatment plan for health issues I have complained about here previously, and I am very grateful to have some truly wonderful and supportive people in my life.

Wishing everybody just what you need this Friday, hopefully including some measure of peace and mindfulness with which to appreciate it.

This gave me a good laugh.

Ever since my father told her he was selling she has been going on about "the ancestral home". As if my family build it with their bare hands in the 1200s instead of buying it at auction in 1917.

Also, when my uncle tried to sell it and she was thinking she would get a third of it she never moaned on about "the ancestral home".

Now you know why I enjoy cross stitching so much: I can stab something hundreds or thousands of time without getting arrested.
