I just found out the designer of the pattern sells just the digital pattern on Etsy. I'll have to get my own fabric and floss, but it'll be cheaper if I can source it myself (especially since I can take my time and wait for sales).

Finally acclimated to walking in summer levels of heat & humidity - my cut off temp is 92 F - harder to do every year but nothing is more boring than my stationary bike - walking keeps me sane(ish).

I rigged a little setup to set my e-reader on the bike.

Hmm... reminds me of a bicyclist I saw the other day. He had a 7-8 inch tablet mounted to his bike and was tapping on the screen when he ran into the back of a bus. The nerve of the blasted bus driver stopping in a bus stop!

Couldn't do it at 92°. However, I cut myself some slack in the summer in terms of daily steppage given that I swim (almost) every day. I have a real walk early morning, but don't sweat a later one if I'm not in the mood; i.e., it's too darned hot.

If I run into a bus on my very stationary indoor, wheel-less bike, we have much bigger problems than my e-reader mount...

Still getting used to my Monday to Friday work schedule. For 20-25 years our store was closed on Sunday and Monday. I always worked on Saturday. Now that our store is closed I was able to decide my own schedule and chose Monday to Friday. But it's weird having the Saturday off and not the Monday. Monday now feels like a Tuesday to me.

It's a more convenient schedule for me; I always had to plan the outings with my sister on Sunday, because that was the only day we had a day off at the same time. If I went over to her place I would go after work on Saturday and return home on Sunday evening. This weekend we're going to the movies and I'm leaving after work on Friday (she's taking half a day off), we're going to watch something on TV, on Saturday we're going to the cinema and check out the city center of the town we are thinking of moving to, and on Sunday morning I return home (she meeting friends in the afternoon).

I have a dumb question--I assume that the store--your folks--pay you for this working time, yes?

Maybe, for the next 3 months, unless they have some objection (that wouldn't make sense to me, but...family, ya know?), why not just...go a little more flexible? Take the days you need, don't take the days you don't and average it out to the needed number of hours/week?

Yes, I'm getting paid for it. I work 24 hours a week. And if I want to I can chance my schedule however I want to. But in general I like working 5 days, the regularity works for me (Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 2 pm and on Fridays from 9 am to 1 pm). But if I want a day off I can divide the lost hours however I want to.

If I wanted to I could just work three full days. But I'm on my own most of the time. My father usually helps 1,5 to 2 hours a day and then in the afternoon he brings boxes to the garage or goes to the recycle station to drop of recyclables and trash. We also blocked the shop window with a white tarp, to discourage people from ringing the doorbell or coming inside. But it also means I can't people watch. There is little diversion in the store and I think if I worked thee days of 8 hours mostly on my own I would go crazy.

LOL, okay. I mean, whatever works for you is what matters. Personally, I'd rather put in two 12s than 3 8s or even 5 anythings, but then again...I'm nuts.
