I remember hitting the Empress Hotel in Victoria for their afternoon tea which they called afternoon tea though that was a few decades back. One of the members of our party took 30 minutes just to decide which tea to try. Not sure what the 4 younger members of the party thought of their Prince and Princess tea though I seem to remember 3 of them going for the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

I'd have been down the road, either eating somewhere else, a bar...a store...something. That's just rude.

I put a hold on a book and was looking forward to borrowing it. Except whoops, I put the hold on the audiobook version and never realized until it came up some weeks later. So I had to place a separate hold to the eBook copy. Going to take a while to read this....

Ah, Latin vs local language is likely main difference. Reforms. I'd forgotten about that, but I didn't think High & Low were the Official descriptions? I thought the Latin was the Tridentine Mass from 16th C. to 1969. Though I could have heard Latin mass spoken in 1970s and forgotten because I think the English as standard thing is since then? I've heard loads of singing also at English language Mass.
Queen Elizabeth I issued first Irish Language prayer book and much later the Methodists in Ireland were the first to have Church Services and Communion (Sort of Anglican Mass) in Irish.

She is an old friend whom my wife knew from middle school. We are used to her inability to make up her mind on what food and drink to order without studying the menu and interrogating the servers like it was a life and death decision so it was not a surprise that it took her so long.

I was actually enjoying the people watching and the kiddies got to order their meals.
