A quiet before the storm.

Both yesterday and today was very windy and mostly cloudy. But this evening it became windstill. It rained for a little bit earlier in the evening and it started to rain just now (almost 11 pm). It's expected to rain off and on for a while, but during the night until tomorrow early afternoon it'll rain a lot, in some places over 50mm. And it'll start to get stormy. Whether it'll be classified as a storm we have to wait and see. Schiphol airport has already cancelled all incoming and outgoing flight between 9 and 11 am tomorrow and the NS (trains) has already changed some of the scheduling tomorrow morning.

We had a few storms on Tuesday, 4th July. It was clear from late afternoon through the evening. Temps were in the high 70s but so humid that it was very uncomfortable. Prediction for Wednesday is temp 90 degrees that will feel like 97.

Hit 31° today and the humidex was on the high side so getting uncomfortable being outside.

Yesterday it was windier than predicted, so it was officially a summer storm, but there was less rain than predicted, still 27mm. During the storm it was cold 11/12℃.

The north east was hit hardest, I'm in the center of the Netherlands and the damage was limited. All trains in northern half of the country were cancelled and lots of flights from Schiphol. In the province of North Holland people got a text alert telling them they should stay inside.

Around 1 pm it started to quiet down for us and by 6.30 pm, when I went to the cinema it was 18℃ with a slight breeze and during the evening there were a couple of rain showers.

Today looks to be nice; 22℃ this afternoon, breezy and mostly sunny.

Wednesday and Thursday it was sunny and reached 90 degrees. Now 73 degrees at 2:00 AM. We expect a high of 85, partly cloudy, on Friday.

You know it's summer in NC when grocery shopping first thing in the morning sucks all the energy out of you - already feels like 91 F ... high humidity is a real bummer

Currently 19° with a promise of 27° by the end of the day. Humidex is low. At least the nighttime temperatures have made for comfortable sleeping.

Thunderstorms rolling through all afternoon - finally had a glorious low humidity walk at 6:00- but now humidity levels rising again for tomorrow's storm.

Lawn is becoming a jungle - been too wet to mow ...

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far, locally it was just over 34℃, luckily the humidity was very low so it wasn't too bad.

Today it will be slightly cooler, 30℃, it's now just after 9.30 am and it's already over 27℃. From 3 pm until 9 pm there's a weather warning for thunderstorms, with hail and wind gusts. Humidity is higher and it's already very muggy. The current prediction is that we're getting the thunderstorms between 5 pm and midnight. Hopefully it'll cool down more than predicted.
