Wishing I was in paris for the apero (ayoda), and tasking a break from the things that meant I couldn't be (actually, the original reason vanished as I'd got dates wrong

but was very swiftly replaced by another (which at least stands a chance of making me a very small amount of extra money))

I visited my sister and brother-out-law and nephew (and mother and two aunties visiting) for what my sister called "brunch" (bollocks to that - anything requiring me to be there by 9am does not deserve the title "brunch"). The corn fritters and avocado salsa were nice. Spent some of the early afternoon before we left teaching my 4yo nephew to say "My hovercraft is full of eels!".

Went to my grand daughter's second birthday party yesterday. Nothing says love more than eating cake that has been manhandled by a 2 year old whom you just plucked out of the sandobx to blow out her candles.

ah, an afternoon well spent, then...

i agree with you about the "brunch" at 9 in the morning though. if it weren't your sister we were talking about i'd recommend that anyone organising a social event at that ungodly hour should be shot. "brunch", pfff, i've gotcher "brunch" right here...

i went and had tea with patricia this afternoon. on my way home i walked along the canal a ways and saw the new ducklings !!!! i've been looking out for them for weeks (so much so, that in a bar on the canal i go to, now they call me "duckling girl"). they are so cute i cannot even express it. i've posted photos of them so you can all look at them and go "bouh !" along with me.

sadly, patricia didn't get to see them. i guess that means she'll just have to come back to paris soon.

Preparing volume two of evidence against the Evil Developer. Two volumes of about 1,000 pages each. All annotated and cross indexed. Thank the Great Hamster for pain pills.

Oh yes, and doing it all in duplicate. One set for me and the other set for my attorney. Yes, I've hired a litigator to represent me. I think he's going to be very happy when I present him with this material on Wednesday.

Ubuntu itself has not given me any problems, nor have the apps it comes with.

I decided today, buggerit, and installed Ubuntu 9 on my lappy (Fujitsu P7120), replacing XP altogether (I'll chuck XP onto the iMac for if ever I need it). It installed without any problems. Writing this from it at the mo'.

Do you have any plug-ins that make that easier? I tried to do a sofa design and just about threw the computer through the window, trying to make it do what I wanted. Maybe a 3/4, 4/4, 6/4, and 8/4 template or something?

I don't use the templates (they're called blocks) I build it all from scratch. Takes about 10-12 hours. I use some blocks I create for further work such as hardware or moldings.
