Stopped syncing
Hi Guys
For some reason, my Libra2 is getting really buggy with syncing. Either it just hangs on Checking for updates..... Or is trying to sync Pocket items, takes minutes to sync just one item I have read about signing out of my account and back in, when I did this last time, I lost all my collections etc Is there anything else that I can do to resolve this? I have deleted the WiFi and connected again, but still the same... Any ideas anyone???? Thanks David |

What happens if you try to sync on a different WiFi network?

I have this problem every few weeks or so. Sometimes leaving it on charge and trying to synch for an hour helps, but usually it does not.

Not really. Maybe try deleting the collections you created. But sometimes it takes a synch or 2 to resolve this and then next week you have the same problem when you recreate the collections. Kobo synch does not seem to be reliable. |

Database corruption is my guess. It's something that's gotten worse over recent software versions. You need to do a factory reset and then redownload everything. Or you can see if Calibre can fix it.

Reasons can vary, as others said.
I can't sync any longer due to this: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=352381 (or better, I can sync only if I delete the collections first). I don't know if it's your case, but if you have lots of collections or lots of books in a single collection, your case may be the same. Another reason is a corruption of the DB (in that case, logging out and logging in again is the only solution you have). I suggest you to use Calibre to back up reading status, highlights/notes, and collections, so you can recover it all after logging out. Sometimes repairing your account on the device does the trick. Or deleting your wifi connection and reconnecting again (or connecting to another net, if available). Last edited by Lys; 06-17-2023 at 04:06 AM. Reason: edited url |

With a database corruption, there's no need to do a factory reset. Logging out of your account and logging in again triggers the rebuilding of the DB. You will lose reading status/notes/highlights/collections for sideloaded books, but the files themselves will still be on the device (purchased books will be available through the cloud as usual).

If you use Kobo Utilities, you can have the database backed-up if it's not correct when you plug into calibre. That way if you do corrupt the database, you can copy the most recent database back to your Kobo instead of having to start over.
