Thanks for doing those tests JSWolf, it appears the transfer rate on mine is slightly below average but not a huge difference. I may try to exchange it for another one and see if I get the same result.

Your welcome.

Are you copying from a mechanical hard drive or an SSD? Also, you have to remember that you are copying a lot of small files. Try copying a large file and see what sort of speed you get.

From an SSD. I also tested out a large file from my M2 drive, and got the same transfer rate (although more consistently 3.0MB/s with the single file).
