old coworkers who should have retired, but won't. So they have problems out in the middle of no where, which stresses me out and causes physical problems for me.
If you are feeling sick, you old coot, don't come into work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never thought Amazon had such stellar service back in the days when people raved about it, but lately it's a one-two punch; they can't get it right up front and then they make it very difficult to engage in order to fix it. A lot of the "Help" links end up in dead-ends; you're got to persist. And then the script-reading CS (and I don't blame them) eats up a significant portion of your remaining lifespan.
The last time I had a problem with some Amazon orders, I got them sorted really well. Some items came via the post office and didn't come on time. So Amazon sent out replacement items. I received them fine the second time. I asked what to do if I did finally revive the original orders. Amazon said to just keep them. And eventually they did arrive.

Wow. Who gets to decide when anyone should retire?

No one should go to work when ill, not just "old coots" which is offensive btw. What is your idea of old?

Give me an old person who is dependable anyway over a 20 year old who slacks off and just does the bare minimum.

I'm pretty "old coot-ish" myself--as are many of us here on MR. Sure, there are days when I'd love to retire, but you can bet your skivvies that I would strenuously resent someone else telling me that I 'should.'

I agree that the ill (which are contagious or may be) should stay the hell home. I used to send home my secretaries, who invariably came in, just to show everybody how dedicated and hardworking they were. Oish;.

I'd happily be told to retire, as long as the teller was funding it for me. Believe me, if retirement was an option, I'd take it.

Or people who stop and start as they meander from one side of the sidewalk to the other while peering down at their fiddle-fones.

I'm now The Destroyer of Embroidery Hoops. Yes, I did it again. Tonight I was tightening the screw at the top of the hoop after moving the fabric and the screw just snapped. It turns out that the screw wasn't solid metal, but hollow and filled with a cement like something. And this was supposed to be a good quality hoop.

Luckily I still had some spares, but they were bigger. I had one that I think must be 11 inch which fit my project and just about fit in the mesh bag I use as project bag. This one is the "extra good quality) one I think. Also it's big enough so I don't have to move the fabric anymore. But I don't have a grime guard for this size, so I'll need to use clips to keep the excess fabric out of the way.

I will be taking my project with me on my trip tomorrow. Who know, I might have some energy to do some stitching tomorrow evening.

I prefer no hoop - I roll the fabric at both sides like a scroll. So my hands are mostly touching the back of the fabric. That way I can cross-stitch from only the top side of the fabric, by putting the needle in and out in the same motion. The fabric has to be able to bend a little, to do that.

Hope your hoop lasts the rest of this project!

I don't think I would be able to stitch without a hoop. The loose fabric would drive me crazy.

On my big project I work on a Q-Snap, I like that because the thicker frame is more comfortable to hold than a thin hoop. I also like that it's square, less moving of the fabric is necessary. But with the project I'm currently working on I also work on it in the store, so I carry it around. And a Q-Snap is too heavy and bulky.

Tomorrow evening I'm going to order a bunch of cross stitch supplies. Including the heavy quality hoops and I'm also going to order a Nurge square hoop to try out.
