Kindle Fire
Good evening. Newbie to the forum here. Been a Calibre user for a number of years. I use Win 7 Pro, as a result I am using an older version of Calibre. The newer versions don't like Win 7. I started with a Kindle White and have upgraded to Kindle Fire. Imagine my chagrin when I discovered my usual Calibre does not recognize it. Any suggestions? I really don't like Win 11, but it seems I may have to get something along those lines.
Any suggestions are welcome. Another issue, and this is a first. I down loaded a book from Gutenberg and it failed to open on my paper white. I got a message "format not recognized". Thanks again J Welk |

Hello and welcome to MobileRead!
If your Fire tablet is new, then it's possible you need a newer version of Calibre. (BTW, a Fire is not a Kindle, and it's not an upgrade from Paperwhite. It's an entirely different device). As to the Gutenberg book, what format is it? Kindles don't read epubs. If it's epub, convert it to azw3 with Calibre. |
