Not sure what to think of the first two episodes of Silo on Apple TV+. I read the books and I'm still finding it all a bit confusing. I don't think the different timelines are being handled all that well, but I don't hate it.

I watched another episode of Succession tonight. There are 3 episodes left to the final season. I also watched the final episode of this season's Call the Midwife.

Started watching Class of '09 - sort of Matrix meets Person of Interest meets Minority Report - follows the careers of 4 FBI agents in 3 time lines: past (2009), present (2023), and future (2034) as the FBI evolves from its traditional agent based enforcement to total use of AI.

So, sort of recycling past law enforcement memes, but it caught my interest - Kate Mara is great as usual, and it was nice to see Brooke Smith again (for fans of Grey's Anatomy). Waiting to see if it progresses to more than debating "Is AI good or evil?"

Tonight I watched a couple of episodes of the new season of Queer Eye. I needed that after the day I had today.

I also saw a trailer for the new Matlock series with Kathy Bates. I can't remember the original series, but I liked this trailer. It looks like it will start in fall (depending on the writers strike, of course).

Yesterday Lee Pace posted that season 2 of Foundation will start on July 14, another thing to look forward to.

Watching Eurovision. Or rather, I have it on at the moment. I listen to the songs I like and otherwise I'm afraid I'm checked out.

I must say that the outfit of the German act had a very Dr. Frank-n-Furter vibe. Come to think of it the lyrics of Blood & Glitter are also some I see Dr. Frank-n-Furter sing, except not as a metal song, of course.

The third episode was quite good. They've put together an impressive cast; I'll give them that much.

I'm actually thinking about a rare (for me) re-"read" of this series (at least the books that comprised the original "Wool") via Audible.

Six episodes left to watch and I will have worked through all seven series of 'Hill Street Blues'. As good as the day I first saw it almost forty years ago!

Back to working through Resident Alien S2. The strong Twin Peaks (original) vibe I got from S1 is back in the 2nd half of S2, a great blend of dark humor, pathos and insights into the nature of humanity. Also, LOVE the wonderfully strong First Nations presence and relevance.

Last night I finished the latest season of Queer Eye and started with the second season of Shadow & Bone, which came out a while ago.

I'm still trying to decide what to download on my tablet to watch in case the wifi is slow at the vacation park of the theme park I'm going to next week.

I thought the Shadow & Bone (S&B) concept had a lot going for it; really could have had legs, but OMG, the protagonist just annoyed the holy s**t out of me, with her indecisiveness and her equivocating. And apparently--this boggles me--it's like that in the bo9oks, too; fans of the series talked about it, vis-a-vis the books and the show. How you "root" for someone who is such a whiny "me me me" type of person and acting like everything is too hard, too this and too that, when you are the HOPE of the world...the "one" and all that...sweet Moses on a Pony. And to have two men, if not more, chasing her a$$?

Jeeeeze, if I were wired that way (women, rather than men) I'd have run from her loooooong ago.

Yeah, Alina is very annoying. Also in the books. I find the TV series less annoying because of the addition of the Crows, which didn't feature in the S&B book series, but instead have a book series of their own (set in at a different time than S&B iirc).

It's good enough to have on while stitching. I only have 2 episodes left, though tonight I'm watching a podcast, but I'll finish S&B probably tomorrow.
