And I am certain that is true. But when the weights being discussed are less than the paper books the readers are replacing... there's a certain point where harmless fun is just harmless fun.

Sadly true. OTOH, when you have people complaining about the weight of an ereader with or without cover—a weight that is less than the paper books the ereader is replacing—then I see no harm in humour.

I understand your concern.

The initial exercises start with the ereader placed on a surface, using a "wax on, wax off" style of touchscreen page turning to build up muscle. Only much later in the plan would I expect the ereader to actually be lifted with the arms and only ever with a friend there to act as a spotter.
