What is the weight of a Forma in a sleep cover? For mine, the scale says 328g in it's Kobo sleep cover. Again, a lot less than a hardcover and most paperbacks in my collection. and 74g less than my Sage (2.61 ounces for those who don't handle metric conversions internally). Which also lets me know the Sage cover is heavier than the Forma cover by ~30g which may be why it has lasted better.

Do you also consider the weight of a Sage without it's cover at 241g as being massively heavier than a Forma at 197g? Or compare either to my my iPad Pro which clocks in at 682g without it's cover. Or compare reading Stephen King's The Stand: The Complete and Uncut Edition in it's hardcover edition. Not quite up to the single volume edition of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy but either are handy if you even need a door stop.
As I don't want a reader with a cover, and I don't use a reader with a cover, I consider your reader with its cover heavy.

Why do you need to go on and on about your preferences, belittling other peoples preferences, when someone makes a request about something and their preferences.

You were the one who posted "chacun à son goût". Why not leave it at that instead of having to nullify their preference.

If you think an e-reader that weighs little more than a paperback is heavy, consider taking your noodle-arms to the gym and listen to an audiobook instead!

(P.s. I don't have a dog in this fight, so I'm just going to be silly)

Comparing the weight of an ereader without a cover to an ereader in a cover? As I said, apples and oranges.

I have no problems with you making your own choices and expressing your opinion. So grant others that same freedom to post their opinons. As mentioned above, I also feel entirely free to have my opinion about your choices and to express that opinion.

And please note that, IMNSHO, a random post on MobileRead is not making a request to the Kobo developers. The brave few who posted on MobileRead over a decade back left and they ain't coming back.

So comparing a reader to a car, because they both offer protection (never mind one is for bodily injury/death, the other for an electronic device) is apples to apples.

Comparing one ereader weight to another ereader with cover weight is apples to oranges.

Or comparing an ereader weight 8" to an iPad Pro (what size screen) is apples to apples.

Just like comparing an ereader weight to the weight of paper books is apples to apples, but an ereader weight to an ereader weight is apples to oranges.

Sure, feel free to state your opinion, but at least try and be a little consistent in your posts.

Don't forget, chacun à son goût.

Myself, I don't need a cover, but chacun à son goût. There are people who like to throw their money away. Id don't care for the asthetics of a cover, but chacun à son goût. There are many people who have no taste. I don't see a problem pushing a button to sleep/wake a device, but chacun à son goût. There are many lazy people with noodles for fingers.

Clearly they're using smaller fonts to save battery

Good, some lighthearted banter returns. I was concerned relationships were getting "strained". To be honest I was feeling canneloni.

Mine is usually in the sleep cover...but sometimes I get interrupted reading with the cover open and it times out and I get to see a nice screen saver next time I pick it up.

And even if I do close the cover, I still nee a nice screensaver for a moment before it wakes up.

And as others have said, I keep the sleep cover on it when I throw it in my bag. But sometimes when in a long reading session, it gets heavy, and I pop it out of the sleep cover -- which I think is heavier than the device, but maybe not.

And since I have an origami cover, I end up putting it back in the cover so I can set it on the table to read.

So I agree with both sides.

And as you said, the charge percentage on the sleep screen isn't reliable. If I really want to know that, I wake it up and check it.

If I do wish to give my arm(s) a rest, I find perching the device on Mount Midriff is sufficient. One of the rare perks of an aging metabolism.

Ironically, part of the reason I got a cover is because I have trouble holding the Libra H2O up for long periods of time. (Ironically, my Aura HD was heavier. But its weight was a bit more balanced.) So I can now flip it sideways and just use the cover part to prop it up on my lap.

Hmmm... Obviously MobileRead, Amazon, Kobo and other ereader manufacturers are missing out an a income opportunity by not pushing exercise equipment.

Now included in the box with your new ereader! Two 500g wrist weights and two 2kg dumbbells with the usage manual on the ereader!
