It's not. Long-lived tokens are (by dropbox), but the code was updated to handle short-lived tokens a while ago. It might be slightly messy/messier to setup though (I wouldn't know, I don't use it).

EDIT: Yup, it's 241 .

How did you find the value for the frontlight? I am also looking for the warmth setting so i can have the color adjust along with the brightness. Any suggestions?

Warmth is set via sysfs knobs, not the ntx_io ioctl. c.f., KOReader's HAL for more details.

Note that the same caveats as above apply; this will not be in sync with Nickjel's UI.

(You'll notice that you can *also* set the brightness via sysfs knobs on those devices, but this wasn't true for older devices, hence prefering the ioctl for that).

(As for the answer to your actual question; it's in the kernel headers: https://github.com/koreader/KoboUSBM...ms.h#L185-L189

Can i make a call on the sysfs knobs within nickle menu? I apologize for so many questions, i just got started with this and am still trying to orient myself on just how deep into the system nickel menu lets you go.

Thanks for the help!

Hello, fellow readers. I have recently switched to Kobo Libra 2 from my Tolino device. While I really enjoy all the flexibility kobo gives me, there was a particular Tolino UI-feature which I loved. When you moved the brigntess slider, the minimum was 1% instead of completely turning off the lights. You could disable the lights by tapping in the middle of the upper part of a screen. I read exclusively in the bed next to my husband who is very light-sensitive and I wish I could have had a feature in the NickelMenu that allows me to set the brightness to 1% directly from the menu. Oftentimes I end up accidentally turning off the LEDs while trying to accomplish this and failing to find the slider afterwards in a complete darkness. I have to stand up and quietly sneak to another room to get the Kobo lights back on. Is there any way to implement this feature? Thank you.

Can't you slide a finger up on the left side of the screen to turn the brightness back up?

Barring that solution (which I approve of wholeheartedly, it'll be much simpler, especially on a device with a recessed screen where you can just feel for the edge of the bezel even in total darkness. Just make sure you haven't actually disabled the gesture, as I think that's an option... somewhere in the settings?), we've discussed how to handle the brightness and warmth the hard way over the last two pages (keeping in mind that doing it this way will *not* be reflected in the UI).

If you have the gesture disabled, you shouldn't be able to accidentally turn the light off in the first place, though. Use the +/- on the frontlight menu instead of swiping when you need precise frontlight adjustment.

I received this strange mail from kobo for the first time since I bought my h2o ( 4 years ?)

You will need to perform a mandatory software update for your Kobo eReader by May 25, 2023.
We're rolling out a critical update to stay in step with global internet security standards. Without this update, your Kobo eReader will get stuck in the setup process after initiating a factory reset.

But I use koreader, and last kobo update has been a problèm to re install Koreader !
So I think I will not update this time .
Is it a problem for the future ?
Thanks

I have the gesture disabled, and I unintentionally turn the light off more often then I'd like. I wish that we could set the minimum light setting to 1%.

How are you turning the light off if the gesture is disabled? Tapping in the middle of the screen, tapping on the light icon to open the light controls and dragging the slider all the way to the left is a bit of a hard thing to do by accident. At least when I tested this on my Sage, it took multiple taps to get to the Brightness slider and when I slid it, the light level didn't change until I released it so even if I dragged it to 0, I have the chance to see and correct this before lifting my finger. If you are suffering from issues that prevent a smooth hold and slide, you could always use the buttons at either end of the slider to change the brightness level in 1% steps.

Though what this has to do with NickelMenu is a bit hard to understand.

This is the wrong thread for what you are asking. See this thread, “Kobo mandatory update”.

However, while I am on the subject, I think this update is particularly important and I would personally be prioritizing applying this update over concerns about ease reinstalling KOReader.

I believe because the discussion has (as you allude) digressed from the original request, which was for some way to set brightness through NickelMenu.

It's not possible to set a minimum frontlight level of 1% in Nickel, so some people are hoping that NickelMenu could introduce such an option.

While a powerful utility, NickelMenu is not really a firmware patch tool and that seems to be what people are wanting. A way to patch Kobo's firmware to set the minimum light level to 1% or alternately, the ability toggle between 0% and 1% as the minimum light level.
