Hello! I have a problem with screensavers

My kindle 2 is driving me crazy.
I love the device, and I used to have a bunch of custom screen savers: 9 photos of my grandchildren. I replaced some of them, and the changes didn't show up.
Then, the three I had replaced disappeared, leaving me with 6.
So, after some reading, I deleted all the photos in the linkss screensaver file,
and I still had the 6.
I deleted those again, and also deleted those in System/Screensaver.
Now I have nothing.
I have put the photos I want in both directories, but nothing shows up.
I am baffled.
I would deeply appreciate any information/guidance.
And, I don't know how to get to this page again!
I'd really appreciate instructions: nanandpeter@yahoo.com

Thanks in advance.
Peter
