Kobo Elipsa. Am I missing something?

I just bought one and there is no warm light. Anyone know why? I am so disappointed. Makes no sense that the lower end readers all have it but their top of the line does not? makes no sense.

That is supposedly one of the improvements in the Elipsa 2e.

I wish I waited. I am still keeping it. But I’m liking the Scribe better

The problem for me with the Scribe, aside from its software, is that its dark mode even with the light turned on high is quite dim. I just compared the Scribe with the Sage (same 300dpi), and the dark mode on the Sage is much brighter and easier to read. The same is true of the Elipsa, though the current one is not 300dpi and does not have color adjustment (the 2e does, apparently). I find myself reading in dark mode every evening and using the Elipsa rather than the Scribe. Don't know if they'll ever put 300dpi on the Elipsa.

How do you turn on dark mode on the KOBOs?

At the bottom of the home screen, tap on More => Settings => Reading settings and on page 2 (might be page 1 on an Elipsa), tap the On box for Dark Mode.

Alternatively and the way I do it is to install NickelMenu and add the following to the configuration file:
Code:
#
menu_item : reader : Dark Mode : nickel_setting : toggle : dark_mode
menu_item : reader : Invert & Reboot : nickel_setting : toggle : invert
    chain_success : power : reboot
#
Actually, this included Dark Mode and Inverted Mode (Inverted requires a reboot after enabling it).

With that enabled, I tap on the screen, tap on the ... menu, tap on Dark Mode and I'm in business.

Dark Mode only applies while reading a book and does not invert images while Inverted mode applies everywhere and to everything.

If you can build a case for a dissatisfying purchase, you might be able to get them to authorize a return.
