Paperwhite 2022 VS 2015
I'am thinking about to upgrade from my 2015 Paperwhite (7th Gen) and buy the new Paperwhite with 6.8" screen.
Larger screen is the main reason for my eventual choice, however, I have read that the screen of the new Paperwhite exhibits ghosting phenomena. Can anyone give me an opinion on this? |

If anything, the new Paperwhite 5 handles ghosting better than the older ones comparing a PW4 and PW3 to the PW5.

For example, it supports 'page animation' (for most content types), which eliminates more or less random full page refresh ('flashing') and seems to eliminate most ghosting artifacts.

Warm light alone makes a huge difference to me. And the page turn animation is nice for the eyes as well. The screen size is not THAT much bigger, don't know what the hype is all about but I have not regretted getting the upgrade.

A larger screen does give a better reading experience. How big is too big is up to the individual. But I think 7" has become the new 6".

Ok, thanks to all, and regarding the more glaring screen and which retains fingerprints, what can you tell me?

As far as glare is concerned, there is always a glare issue with eink. It is unavoidable, especially in bright direct sunlight at the wrong angle. It doesn't take much turning to avoid it though. When one eink screen has a lot more glare than another it is all relative. The worst eink glare is still better than the best LCD or OLED glare.
