@BR: I used a template to turn a related:{calibreid} entry in #admintags into a URL for use in an HTML-formatted composite column. So longtext isn't necessarily the only option

Probably the easiest to setup though if you don't want to muck with templates

I was testing a version of FanFicFare that adds support for series URLs. Through some glitch, the URL also appears for my Reading List custom series column. However, the URL doesn't appear in the category editor.

How do I remove this? I tried replacing it with another URL but it didn't work.

EDIT: I believe this is a Calibre issue; the series URL appears on both columns if it's present in the default series entry and disappears from both when I remove it. This happens even when added manually and not with FFF.

ANOTHER EDIT: I'll file a ticket.

IMO no. First, what kind of URL? Second, if you know what you are looking for then building the URL isn't hard.

My #admintags tend to be transient. Besides which I usually write something that documents why two books have an association, which is usually related to plotline or characters, often obscure, and sometimes in my mind only - and I already have the long text custom.

That reminded me to try something that's been bugging me ever since I first cloaked a long text column with an icon with no text in the Book List. Which is to have different 'labels' for the column in the Book List (CL) and the Book Details (e.g. Checklist).

How long has it been since chaley added Show as HTML in Book details to virtual columns?

I used to do that until elliding was added to column header (before, I think it just chopped off the text and looked generally bad)

For reason's best known to my alter-ego, until a couple of weeks ago I hadn't thought of using a virtual column to give my cloaked icon columns a longer name in Book Details… even though I have used them to give standard columns a different name in Book Details.
