Problem when syncing and updating series information

I'd loaded some days ago a book to Koreader from calibre with a series information.
I decide today to suppress this series information in calibre and then sync my Kobo/Koreader.

The series information has well disappeared in the KOBO GUI but still remains in the KOREADER GUI.
I "refresh book info", but the series information is still there.

I then delete the book from Koreader, power off the device and restart.
I add the book from calibre to my device.

I've rescanned my calibre libraries. No change !

What can I do ?

FWIW, when modifying metadata, you'll have to bake an entirely new file in calibre (e.g., via the "Polish book" feature) and send *that* one to your device, *then* tap the "Refresh book info" button.

Otherwise, calibre only works on its own internal database, and the Kobo driver pushes that to Nickel's own database, the files are never ever touched. (Yes, there are setups where calibre *may* push updated metadata to the files on Send-to-Device, too, but I'm glossing over those for simplicity's sake).

And we don't care about any of those, we care about what the actual file says .

I fixed it.

Thank you also for your explanation. I understand now what I couldn't solve the issue just by deleting the book on my device. it's clear.

BTW, if not already done, it could be useful to write it down in a sticky post or in the guide.
