All the best. The zooming sounds useful. |

I like they way pages look on the PocketBook better than any other reader. Maybe it has something to do with the version of ePub it uses (newer RMDSK?). I don't know what they do different, I just know I like it.

The Pocketbook home screen reminds me of Kindle and Nook where most of it is given over to ads. I do appreciate that lack of ads on the Kobos. But the truth is, any reader you buy from any larger, established company will be a good reader. I like how tweakable Kobos are. But then I also enjoy my Nooks where there is little to no fine tuning. For all the slagging Nooks take, if Kobo were to go belly-up, I could happily move back to Nook as my primary reader. Given enough time I could probably even grow used to Kindle.

I could never get used to a Nook (I tried). I don't think I'd want to go back to a Kindle, either. I'd probably get a Pocketbook and install KOReader on it. I don't use KOReader on my Kobos, as I have not needed it, Kobos are tweakable enough. But if there was no Kobo anymore, KOReader would be the next best thing for me.

PocketBook allows you to hide book recommendations on the home screen.

Does PocketBook allow you to use side loaded fonts? You can always use a font editor to add weight to the fonts.

Because Pocketbook uses the latest version of RMSDK, there's no reason to use KOReader. So I would up the weight using a font editor. I've not had any problem doing so.

Even if the new RMSDK is better, doesn't it make a difference as to what Kobo implements? I'm guessing that Kobo would have to handle the image zoom stuff, and I'm not sure about about handling link (footnote) detection. And RMDSK may be better, but I'm guessing that purchased books/syncing will still be kepub. |
