Very strange.... What could be different for me? Using "real" mobile (Android 8). Guess I could try Bluestacks.
Thanks for testing. |

I could it open, but I couldn't read it on my EInk P78 device, but I could on Bluestacks. But I was able to open the P78 book in Calibre. Last edited by ottischwenk; 03-11-2023 at 03:15 PM. |

Bluestacks behaves differently than normal Android. Maybe because it doesn't emulate Android, but the modified Android version of OnePlus phones that used to be OxygenOS.

If you didn't try, but others have tried and get it to work with Bluestacks, but not a real device, then inherently there IS a difference in how Bluestacks handles things compared to other (physical) devices. Bluestacks is also unique that it can run multiple ABI (Application Binary Interface) in the same virtual machine. You can disable this if you want, but by default a Bluestacks emulator can run different APKs that are compiled for different processors - 32bitARM, 64bitARM, 32bitX86, and 64bitX86 can coexist in the same VM. Though, support for 64bit requires a 64bit Android version, even in BS.

Added a note to the OP about this occasionally failing on physical devices. Whether there's differences between emulation and non-emulation, or the app being cut off, unknown for now.

Bluestacks does something right - it doesn't allow KFX downloads. For confirmation I have installed the same APK for Kindle for Android 8.51 in the Android Emulator. Bluestacks gives KF8 downloads including a container with high resolution images, the other downloads a KFX file. |

I do plan on updating it again to support Kindle for Android within the next day or two. But adding a CLI to the plugin is more work than I am willing to do for a feature I don’t have any use for.
