Possible to save to disk only books not previously saved?

Hello,

Is there any way to tell within Calibre which books have not already been "saved to disk" in the current locations and/or to save to disk without re-saving books that are already in the expected locations?

Thanks!

Save to disk refers to Device (storage), not Calibre.
ondevice:false eliminates those already there (It can't detect name changes).
Now you choices are just candidates

Thank you, is there an option in the user interface (somewhere in preferences?) to set ondevice:false?

That is a search column name that can only be USED ONLY WHEN DEVICE IS CONNECTED

@theducks - I'm confused, the ondevice/On device column is set by the Send to Device tool - e.g. a Kobo, Kindle, Nook etc.

But the OP refers to Save to Disk, i.e. save book to a file system location - e.g. C:\Users\fred\SavedBooks.

@jsibley - can you confirm whether you're asking about the Save to Disk tool or the Send to Device tool.

If it's Save to Disk the answer is no. You could set a Yes/No custom column manually when you do the save, which you might be able to automate with the Action Chain plugin.

You could use a file device instead of a Save to Disc. That is just a connection to a folder on your computer or other storage device that does contains the library files that are needed to see the onDevice mark when connected.
