You will need to have Private Messages enabled before you can be sent the link. If you don't see that option in the "Edit Options" of the User control panel, you should post in the Requests to enable Private Messages thread to ask for them to be enabled.

Hello all, first post and I'm looking for help.

Wife turned on her Clara HD for the first time in ages, pushed through an update over WiFi. After going through the motions, it updated and then just bricked itself. Tried resetting and it just froze on "restoring". Opened the cover, removed battery connection and SD card. Replaced, it worked briefly, then did exactly the same thing and stuck on the restoring page.

I guessed the SD card just became corrupt, and after looking through these forums it seems to be a regular thing.

Basically I'm wondering if anyone has a boot image for it. I have a new SD card ready to go.

That sounds more like a font issue than anything that requires a re-imaging. I'm going to send you a link to the image but try the following steps before re-imaging
  1. Have you tried the sign out/sign in (Settings => Accounts)?
  2. Factory reset your eReader? (Settings => Device Information)? This will wipe user data but not change the firmware version.
  3. The real factory reset? Enter devmodeon in the search box and search. At the bottom of Settings => Device Information, you should now see a Developer Options items. After taping on View, you should see Factory reset your eReader at the bottom of the last page of options. This option will wipe the device and reset the firmware version to the factory version.

Basically, try each of these in order. If you complete step 3 but your Clara HD is still not a happy camper, then try installing the image.

My apologies if you have already tried these steps but a surprising number of people request a firmware image without having tried these steps first.

It looks like my Kobo Clara HD has also gotten bricked, doesn't seem to boot and found that the SD card has a corrupted partition.

Do you have the SD card image?

Requesting a Clara HD image. I briked it (sideloading something for older firmware like an idiot), and somehow it wiped itself looking at the sd card in linux it didn't reformat itself, but the KoboeReader folder is empty.
