Oh for Pete's sake, that was literally about a Tootsie Pop?! I've been trying to figure out what the metaphor meant and what post it was responding to.

I'm not that deep. When it comes to defective soft-centered suckers ... I'm going to rant. QA on the Starburst variant appears to be a little better, so I'm headed back that direction.

And the DHL saga continues...

My package, which was marked as delivered on Tuesday, still hasn't arrived. On Wednesday I emailed to store I ordered from, but have yet to receive an answer. On Thursday, when it was still marked as delivered, it arrived back at the sorting center. On Friday it was "found in CityHub". Now it says it will be delivered before 3pm, but to a different address. Sigh, so I'll have to call DHL, which on Saturday I can do from 9am.

I don't have high hopes; I can't remember the last time DHL delivered a package on Saturday. It's then always registered as no one's home, even though our store was open, I suspect it's because it's busy in the city center on Saturday and they can't park in front of our house and they don't want to park further away and walk.

Will my package be delivered, delayed again or will it be send back to the sender?

In the USA, one can rent a post box AT the post office, which includes them holding packages for that address, until you pick them up. Often packages are stored in a bigger post box, so you can pick them up at all hours of the day, even if the office isn't open. Would something like that be worthwhile, since DHL gives you so many problems?

It looks like you can't rent personal post boxes anymore, it's only for businesses. Which doesn't surprise me, since you don't really have post offices any more, just "service points" (in stores and supermarkets).

But you could only have packages delivered by Post NL delivered there, and not any of the other shipping companies.

Not all webshops list which company they use to ship their packages, like the one I ordered from last week. Some webshops offer the option to have the package sent to a service point of company they use for shipping. When it's DHL and I get that option I usually choose to pick it up myself.

On the phone Saturday morning, DHL assured me that although the status said it would be delivered at a different address that wasn't the case. And they assured me it would be delivered before 3pm. I expressed my doubts and insisted that they made a note in their system that we were at home and that the package could/should be delivered. I kept an eye on the tracking and I never got a notification that it was on the way. But just before 5pm it was delivered.

Pro tip: if you have Shingles and your leg starts to turn red, RUN DO NOT WALK to the doc and get antibiotics right away. Don't be like me and think, "duh, all that swelling is from the steroids." It's NOT.

I've had shingles. Never had any red areas. But it did itch quite a bit. I've taken steroids (due to asthma) a lot and I've never had any side effects.

I hope you'll be better soon.

No, no...the cellulitis was caused/provoked by the Shingles.

My Shingles only itched really for a (relatively) short period of time; it was the nerve neuropathy that nearly did me in for nearly 9 weeks now.

The prednisone was being taken, to reduce the rash swelling, from the Shingles and had nothing to do with the cellulitis--except, it caused my feet to swell (the steroids) so I foolishly thought that the foot swelling, that was actually the first symptom of the cellulitis, was from the steroids, but NOOOOO, it wasn't, it was cellulitis. See? Just a conflation of STUFF.

I am, finally, starting to feel like a mostly human being. I figure by not this, but next week, I might be able to drive and EVERYTHING. Woowzers.
