Hey, didn't you send some of that crazy weather in my direction on Friday? High winds, dark sky, and tornado sirens? I have to admit as much as I hate that kind of weather, I wish I'd had a camera handy when I was driving home Friday. My route takes me past the end of the local airport runway. A little white airplane was just getting into takeoff position as lightening flashed against the dark navy blue sky. If I were that pilot and saw lightening at the end of the runway, I'd have turned my little plane around and gone back to the hangar.

The weekend was beautiful, but today....

Windiness
Signs swaying precariously overhead
Traffic lights tilted at odd angles
Mist of moisture blown sideways from beneath tires
Flickering lights as power lines swing
Useless umbrellas left in cars
Hooded jackets the wardrobe of the day

Part of my state is under a Red Flag wildfire watch because it's so windy and dry. Just a couple of weeks ago, the primary concern was flooding.

We had a 250 acre burn ove on this side of the Muddy.

miserably cloudy morning and then the sun came out; the rest of the day (this far) is definitely spring-like.

I actually went to work this morning without a coat for the first time since mid-October! My apple tree is starting to bud up. The Robins weren't falling out of the trees shivvering and screaming "Farking Spring!" on the way down. I guess Pot Hole Season is upon us. Time to clean out the pool, I guess.

It's been incredibly dry here for the past two months. After the snow melted, no rain, which is very unusual for around here. Burning bans all over, right now.

There is still a foot of ice in mine. That's quite normal because it is under shady conifers.
Actually it gives me a good reason not to start it and its chores.

In Cardiff it started fine then rained a lot.

i hope the weather will improve this weekend for the paris apéro. lately, it's been getting colder, and today the sky was like grey lead about 10cm above my eyes. *sigh*

I've been wondering what to pack (I'm coming over tomorrow afternoon).

The BBC forecast predicts some showers. Others think that it will mostly be cloudy with only the chance of an occasional brief shower.

well, to be fair, it's been *threatening* to rain more than it's been raining (i think that might be worse though. i wish it would just RAIN and get it over with) but i recommend you bring a jacket for sure, it's been chilly. you could bring a short-sleeved something just in case, if you also bring a sweater to wear over it... oh, and bring socks !

aaah, april in paris : when you have to put on your entire wardrobe every day just to be prepared for whatever unpredictable weather you get.

i've been carting around my umbrella with me for the past week, haven't used it once, but nearly forgot it twice now (once i actually *did* forget it, but i remembered just as i was about to go in the métro, so i rushed back to get it).

i should add, it has actually rained some, but not as much as i expected.
