one book in one book out

Hi, I have a problom thats just stared happening.
I have reset my Kindle paperwhite & the amazon books have automatically appeared. Unfortunatley when i try and load some books at the same time via calibre USB cabled it only loads the last book. I have found that as I load one book it removes the previous book. This never happened before and I was able to load most of my calibre library onto the kindle. Please Help!

One possibility is that your template for naming the files sent to your Kindle is giving the same file name to every file.

First: All the books in the list (Calibre) need unique Titles and Authors (this is normal for regular books). OTOH Periodicals usually have a date or Issue# to break a tie: Analog Jun 2022

GIGO those must be Unique.

With the device connected:
Right click the Device Icon (only shows when there is a device): Configure:

This is mine for My Kobo, it includes Series_index so I know the order.

Code:

MyBooks/{series}/{series_index:0>2s||-}{title}-{authors}

The typical Calibre default part is in bold

Unfortunalty that hasn't worked. I'm really frustrated as it was working fine up until the last calibre update 6.13 (although I am not blaming the update). something has changed within my set up. I tried to download more than one ebook on tp a friends Kindle and got the same problem. It will download one book then when I download another it removes the previous book!

What is the filename showing as on the Kindle? If you send a book and disconnect/reconnect, can you send a second book?

Check your (preferences) Metadata plugboard settings (clear out and start over if needed)
But as far as I know, that only affects the Kindle Bookshelves.
Did you use the OS file browser and actually see only 1 book ON the K?
2 different types of issue.
1 is a filename stomp. (send to template)
The other is a (Kindle)Index overwrite Plugboard mis-configured

Thank you very much "Theducks" & all the people that have helped. I managed to load my entire library on to my kindle by adopting your advice and configuring my device icon by basically copying your kobo template:

MyBooks/{series}/{series_index:0>2s||-}{title}-{authors}

I don't know why my kindle needed configuired as it had been working well for two years before.

Now I just need to stop the kindle displaying the authors as first name first. It appears as surname first on calibre.

Use

instead of

MyBooks/{series}/{series_index:0>2s||-}{title}-{authors}
