Babylon Berlin is published by Macmillan in the US, but by Joffe in the UK, where it is free right now. And given the Macmillan thing, I wouldn't expect it to go free in the US anytime soon . So if you live in the UK, or can travel, you may want to pick it up there right now...

In Ireland you can optionally have all your Kindles use the US store, but that just gives US pricing, availability is the same as using UK as soon as you log in.

Another of those series that are Joffe in the UK, and thus reasonably priced (still mostly £0.99 and £1.99) there, while still being big publisher (Minotaur) and outrageously priced ($12.99 !!!) in the US. And right now the first in the series, Evans Above, is an even better deal in the UK - it's free there at the moment.

The first eight of the ten Evan Evans mysteries by Rhys Bowen are available right now for variously £0.99 or £1.99 each at Kindle UK. It appears Bowen may have gotten the rights back since these are Joffe Books editions. By contrast, all ten are still listed at $11.99 in the US (crazy for old backlist - this was Bowen's first series, back in the 1990s and 2000s) and the three I spot-checked were all pubbed by traditional publisher Minotaur Books.

I really like the Evan Evans series - cozy though it is, it's also quite fun. And now, for the moment at least, you can check it out on the cheap, and even read most of it on the cheap too. Oh yeah, and it's KU in the UK if you have that...
