Possible jailbreak issue with Kindle firmware 5.15.1.1
I took at look at the changes present in the new Kindle firmware version 5.15.1.1 that is in the process of being released.
I found something that may be of concern to those with a jailbroken device, but I do know have enough knowledge of how the jailbreak works to know if it will be an issue or not. The files pubprodkey01.pem and pubprodkey02.pem have been moved from /etc/uks to a new archive named etc/uks.sqsh. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the jailbreak could comment as to whether or not this is a problem. |

![]() Probably not game changing as there's not really a difference between changing the keyfiles and replacing a squashfs once you've got root access - that said, this will definitely screw with the hotfix as it doesn't support this scenario... yet. |

Yup. It's not overly high on my TODO list, and I'm pretty short on time as it is, and previous experience with updating squashfs images on-device wasn't super thrilling...
At least this one should be fairly minimal and universal, so the path of least resistance might just be to ship a patched image directly instead of trying to be cheeky about it... |

I did on-device tricks with squash fs a long time ago on my PW3 to replace the keyboard files. Do you need my notes? I can dig them up
