Sigh. OK, a power outage here is hardly a rare thing in the winter. But four separate outages? In one afternoon/evening? One about 2 hours, the others in the 20-30 minute range. Just as I'm getting ready to fire up the generator, again, it starts back up. Grrr.

For Valentine's Day, the radio station decided to play a few "romantic" songs... including the one written about Robert Plant's dead son. Oy...

It's February - temps have been in the 60's and 70's F, sunny, breezy - so what's not to love?
Pixie cat is shedding ... a lot Pollen counts are surging early => my first sinus headache in 2023 ... I have the urge to do yard work ... but nothing has started growing back yet ... |

Perhaps it was his intention that people would embrace it this way so it would be a more long-lasting and widely popular tribute. You can appreciate the beauty of the Taj Mahal without knowing it's a mausoleum. Last edited by ApK; 02-16-2023 at 04:11 PM. |

It's February here. A couple of days above 32, even above 40. Now 17F. Snow coming next week again too. My Mom is majorly grouching about it and it isn't even here yet.
I'm getting annoyed about books in the middle of a series being pulled for unknown reasons. Books 1-6 are there, 9-15 are there, but 7 and 8 have been pulled. Happens at both Amazon ebooks and Audible audiobooks. Drives me nuts. Will they come back? This year? I can't buy ALL the books of a series at one time, but damn they should continue to be available so that I can eventually. Same publisher btw. |

Winter’s coming back here next week, also. Nights in the teens and days flirting with 30. I’ve enjoyed this temperate week and it’s one more on the march to spring, but it’s going to make next week harder to take. And the week after that, too.

After a few cold days, our mild weather looks to extend on into March.
I'm not a violent person. But when I see people driving entirely too fast in residential areas, throwing a brick through a windshield tends to cross my mind. |

Haven't heard from Hitch in a few days and hoping that this is an instance where no news is good news!

It works extremely well, thanks. Besides, anyone who doesn't recognize that there are conditions where the unposted speed limit of some residential areas is too fast (bushes, blind intersections, snow covered streets, dashing children, etc...) is not paying attention to their training. Plenty of people driving under the general unposted speed limit deserve to be angrily yelled at times. Better that than a dead child to feel guilty about the rest of their days.

Unposted speed limit -- Posted, 25mph in both recent cases. bushes, blind intersections, snow covered streets -- certainly, posted speed limits are maximums when conditions permit, but nothing like that in my cases. dashing children -- always watching for kids, ball, bikes, etc, of course but in the one recent case when a child was even remotely in the area, the parent should have been watching the child, not pretending to be a traffic cop yelling at slowly moving cars.
