How to handle Books that belong to multiple series?

I have easily created a series sub-set for boxed sets (by adding ".Boxed Set" to the series name) so when searching by series any boxed sets I have are added to the listing

I have several 'books' in my library which are 2 complete series bundled together as a single book

I have not figured out how to add multi-series data ...
Using "&" as a separator didn't work - neither did "," or ";"

My question is three-fold ...
  1. Can Calibre 6.12 handle multiple series for a single volume?
  2. if not, could we have it as a new feature for next iteration?
  3. how do I enter the second series data for a given book?
I would rather not create a double entry with the only difference being the Series info - this will add unnecessary bloat to the library in the long term

1. No
2. Doubtful
3. Add a Custom Column like this:

ID:	199638

Now group the built-in series and the new one:

For me, the option to create a User Category for the group wasn't useful; so, being a minimalist, I removed it.

The good thing is that you never stop learning. And the doubts raised enrich knowledge.
