I tried following that around 1.5 years ago and never got it to work.

I found the PW3 firmware (from same thread) and downloaded 5.13.4
Using this link:

Can I manually upgrade using these steps:

Connect your kindle to your PC with an USB in USBMS mode and put the downloaded update.bin file to the top-level of the visible USB storage. (It's the same directory where the documents folder is.)

Unplug your USB, go to Settings on your Kindle, then from the top right menu, choose Update Your Kindle. Your kindle will restart and update to the new firmware version. Now go back to the supported firmware versions section and continue from there!

Than follow directions here without issue?

Any reason to do something else?

There is another ways that works. It's renaming some internal file (to be done while connected via ssh to the kindle). I know I read it somewhere in this forum and I know it works because it's what I have been using for years... but for the sake of me I can't recall which file it is, damn!

Its available as a KUAL extension to rename the OTA binaries.

Welp i tried

On pw2 firmware 5.10.2.1 i got into demo mode went to side load created and added files as per instruction, nothing happened.
So i tried to sideload -> done again nothing . I thought(most likely not) I succeeded at that point but was unable to access settings and encountered "kindle application error could not be started" hard reset didn't help.

I request help from any and every kind soul on this tread.

No matter what I try I cannot install Kual on my B013 KV (5.13.6) after the jailbreak. I've restarted this process 4 times now and I'm just exhausted. Which version of KUAL did you attempt to install? For newer firmware you must use the booklet version, not the kindlet version.

Dam I didn't check the full set of versions, I have PW2 5.12.2.1.1 and looks like this method does not work. I am currently in the demo mode how to exit it (one suggestion was to enter ;demo and then ressell Device)?

I'm a beginner, I did jailbreak but I don't know how to install KUAL and Koreader. Are narrations in old videos compatible with the new jailbreak? Can you help me?

Yup, took care of that too, thanks. Also installed the JB Hotfix found in Nijule's snapshot thread.(I was supposed to do that one, right...??)
