Just to add a data point here, when I am inside Canada and purchasing from Kobo's Canadian store, they bill me based on the address on my user profile. Not based on my billing address for whatever credit card I use. This is not exactly the same as using an entirely different country's Kobo store, but I thought it would be interesting to know.

I live in Texas and shop at the UK store using my real address.

Let me double check...

In the Payment Info tab, I have my street and city info. No ZIP/postal code. No credit card saved. Just my email address.

When was the last time you updated it, just out of curiosity? Last time I did the country swap thing (shortly after I received a generous gift card for Christmas), I was forced to provide both a zipcode and a phone number in order for the form to allow to save.

I don't know. Don't remember when I created the account. But I purchased overseas books in the last couple of weeks and still have no issues.

Storybundle has a Fantasy Steampunk Bundle available for sale.

We're told that Ms. Rusch, who assembled the books "...had a great time assembling this bundle," but I would like to (occasionally) hear someone who does this sort of thing come clean and tell me they had a horrible time and couldn't focus. Maybe they were constipated at that time. Or perhaps contractual issues gave them a debilitating headache. If this happened, I would buy a bundle in a mutilated heartbeat - especially if it was a Horror Bundle.

Come on, you 'Bundle Assemblers' - you know who you are! - scratch your butts in consternation and tell us you had a miserable time working on this or that group of books, and you're not going to take it anymore!

Curators obviously pick works they like. In Story Bundle, clicking each book lets you read a "Curator's Note" with more of their reasoning.

The first book, Wool, has never been discounted. (I only have the first Wool story. It was originally published in parts, and was free at some point).

I actually got the Wool Omnibus way back in July of 2013 for $1.99.

Looks like that version was $2.99 back in 2020. I got the older omnibus from Kobo for $6 back in 2014. (Actually got it "free" with Kobo points or credits. Still haven't read it!

) But at any rate, seems like you might hold out for a lower price at some point on it.

This is the same one I got back in October 2012 for $2 as well. I received an update after purchase that turned it into the Kindle In Motion book, so that tracks with what you remember too. My notes say it was also free at some point in 2014.

I'm surprised to see that the ebook version of Wool is now published by HarperCollins. Hugh Howey made a BIG deal of getting a hybrid deal for himself back in the day and made a point about not giving away his ebook rights to Wool in particular. Maybe with the Apple TV deal, and his sales dropping with his reduced output, they decided to offer him a nice pile of money.

His and DataGuy's Author Earnings reports were very interesting for a while. Then he dropped off the face of the earth for a few years (sailing around the world I think.) I hadn't seen anything from him in a long time until he published Sand 2 late last year.

Time Enough for Love by Robert Heinlein is on sale for $1.99 at Amazon US. Two thirds of this is one of my favorite Heinlein books.

Dragon Assassin by Piers Anthony is free on Amazon US. I have not read this, Piers Anthony is on my ereader IQ watchlist. Hard to go wrong with free, although Anthony's later work is generally nothing to shout about. It was cowritten by J.R. Rain, hopefully having a cowriter bumps up the quality.
