Firmware 4.35.20400 - Page 16

Tried to update my Forma to 4.35 OTA and nothing happened, It claimed I was up to date with 4.34 so I had to update from Mobileread instead.
So either pulled again or slow rollout.
The Kobo site doesn't specify which is the latest, just tells you To check if you have the newest software version, sync your Kobo eReader.

Since this firmware's been out for over a month now, I'd have assumed the initial "slow rollout" period would have passed. It seems odd that devices still aren't getting that firmware.

I just got 4.35 on my Clara HD.

I believe my Libra H2O is updating now!

EDIT: It did.

ANOTHER EDIT: Seeing how soon it came after my "did anyone get the update?" I'm just imagining some poor intern monitoring this forum for issues and going "oh crap, we forgot to send it back out!"

4.35 has not been out more then a month. It was out for a short time and then pulled and not long ago released again.

So actually, 4.35 has been out (overall) less then a month.

It was added again to the pgaskin page about January 10. So about a week to get it.

We don't seem to know why yet, but it was reported above that the version number is identical for first and second releases, which it would not have been if there had been changes

My theory is that something wasn't ready on the Kobo Server side, because there are new features using that.

I found this forum by googling for the version number because I have a problem with this version. After upgrading, when I go to create or edit an advanced notebook I'm prompted to sync in order to download the resources for the new handwriting recognition. This sync always fails, and so I can no longer access advanced notebooks.

I found this forum after googling the version number of the latest firmware because I have a problem with it. After an automatic upgrade to this version I can no longer use the advanced notebooks. When I try to open or create a notebook I'm prompted to sync again in order to download the new handwriting recognition resources. The sync always fails.

There is improved handwriting conversion.
You need WiFi working one time.
Turn on WiFi
Make sure it's actually working by trying web browser.
Then try to open or create an Advanced Notebook.
It's not a regular sync, but an update, so it works in "sideloadedMode=true" setting in the config file. A regular sync only works if you are logged in / registered (even if fake email) and "sideloadedMode=false" or missing in the config file.

I've updated several sages that have "sideloadedMode=true" to 4.35.x via USB after PC download and allowed WiFi once for the "sort of sync" needed to update the handwriting conversion and dictionaries.

I also found with this FW, if I changed UI to Spanish, did an Advanced notebook with accented text, changed back to English it now allows accents, though not always recognising them, sometimes you get a single quote or apostrophe.

Thanks. Yes my WiFi is definitely working. Is there any diagnostic tool I could use to find out why the update does not work?
