For a while now I wanted good noise cancelling bluetooth over-ear headphones. After some research I decided to go for the Bose QuietComfort 45 (I already have the 25, which is wired). Normally it's around €350, but earlier this week I saw that my favourite store had it on offer for €239. A great deal, so I ordered it yesterday and got it this morning. I just went to download the manual and the price has gone up to €299 now. So I got it right in time. Now I'm going to see how it works when wired (I haven't got a TV with bluetooth). |

Decompressing from a holiday weekend spent with an extended family that encompasses a broad, loud spectrum of political (and other) opinions, and weather related flight cancellations that delayed our daughter's return until Monday night. It's good to be home, everyone's in bed, and I have a mug of hot chocolate. 2022 will be in the books soon enough. |

December 31 is always a quiet day in our store; people are busy with whatever they are doing tonight to worry about broken light bulbs or DIY chores. But it's going to rain a lot today until late afternoon or early evening, so I expect it to be extra quiet. I'm now trying to decide whether to bring my tablet or my laptop with me to the store today. I think it'll be my tablet, that way I can finish setting up my digital reading journal for 2023. |

Taking it easy today. I've finished my first book of the year and I just treated myself to a couple of things from Etsy; some stickers for my notebook and a death head's moth needle minder. Now it's time to start getting things done; cleaning the living room and doing laundry. I'm hoping my father hasn't got anything planned that he need me for tomorrow, so I can have the afternoon off to relax. |

Hmmm, it's 2023. Time to stop bothering with Amazon's antics and its ebook formats. At this rate one will end up owning a device for every title. So what other ebook sellers are out there that's any better than Amz or kobo? Best of 2023 to all! |

Looking which book I want to read after my current book. Until the 28th I'm only reading books I already have on my Kindle, I'm not allowed to add any new books. Normally I would do this challenge for a whole month, but I'm going on vacation on the 30th and I'm not sure how good the wifi connection is going to be, so on the 29th I'm going to treat myself to some new books. I think I'm going to read The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich next. |

Right now I'm staying out of the way. The demolition crew is here to begin work on our kitchen -- which hasn't really been updated since it was built in 1963. My wife is presiding over the work, which is just fine by both of us. My job is to stay out of the way. We should have a kitchen again in about six weeks. |
