No kidding! This seems really very weird to me. I go to BB&B to buy things cheap kitchen stuff, linens, towels, trash cans, etc. Why in the world they're going to sell ebook readers that sell for hundreds of dollars is way beyond me.

Really, I always thought of BB&B a boutique store with HIGHER prices. Walmart and Target beat their prices all the time. You would go to BB&B for less ordinary things that you might not find at Walmart, et al.

I only go into BB&B with the 20% off coupons due to their prices. They sometimes have real deals on discontinued/out of box stuff however.

I already have my jetbook (last year, newegg $200 sale). Like it far better than the Sony's I have had.

Really? I've never noticed such a section. I guess I'll have to look some day.

Thing is, the pres release does not mention the lack of DRM support. And this is going to piss off a lot of customers who buy a Jetbook to read library eBooks or romance, or whatever that has DRM. They need to spell this out up front.

Shipping is a killer. It's at least $19.99.

You boys just don't get it. BBBeyond is where brides register for wedding gifts. So now they can register for 2 ebook readers - his and hers. Fabulous idea! Reason: Many couples already either live together or have their own houses/apartments. The last thing they need is more towels after they combine households. For me, it is always a challenge to find something for them that they don't already have.

At work, for instance, take up $25 from 10 people, and you buy an ebook "from the gang."

Then they will try to purchase some eBooks with DRM and find it doesn't work.

They would just have to wait in line outside my cubicle, just like everyone else, and I'll help them when their turn comes up. I've just got to get me one of those "Take A Number" machines for the ol' cube.

I'm not at all convinced of the truth of that statement. I believe that the BeBook supports all the formats that the Jetbook does, and perhaps more besides.
